The New York Capital District Chapter (NYCDC) was founded on June 2, 1967 in Delmar, NY. The purpose of the NYCDC was to “set and maintain high standards of design, color, and workmanship in all kinds of embroidery and canvas work.”
The New York Capital District Chapter is part of the Metropolitan Region, and more broadly, a part of The Embroiderers’ Guild of America, which is also referred to as National.
As a member of our chapter, you are also a member of The Metropolitan Region and of EGA National. As such, you will have access to many different educational opportunities offered by our chapter as well as those offered by the Region and by National.
As a member, you are invited and encouraged to attend any or all of our group meetings, whether in person or via Zoom. We strive to offer a variety of classes in various different techniques.
Our chapter hosts an Annual Retreat, usually in June, at the Ararat Youth and Conference Center in Greenville, New York, as well as a Biennial Exhibit of members’ works. We also have Stash Sales from time to time.
We have a variety of meetings and study groups to fit your interests and schedule:
